These two seasides
were probably achieved during the first days at the Saintes.
At last on the Mediterranean banks, he must have felt the urge to paint
the canvas he had brought with him.
His signature was surprisingly important on that canvas.
He explained:
I needed to put a shade of red in all that blue.
He would draw numerous reproductions of that second canvas, called the
small seaside, in the weeks following his come back to Arles.
