Vincent Van Gogh and the Tambourin

Many young artists used to go to that cabaret-restaurant. Vincent met its boss, Augustina Segatori, with whom he will have a short-lived affair.
It was in that cabaret that Vincent organised the first exhibition of Japanese engravings, which would appeal to numerous painters but which would not have commercial success. Then he would exhibit several of his works but fell out with Augustina after quarrelling with a Café waiter.
It looks as if he left several of his paintings at the Tambourin,, sold some time later to a bric-à-brac trader when the Tambourin went bankrupt.
